My PC has started freezing randomly twoor three times each day and I have to turn the power off to restart. I really need some assistance to solve this. I have read the forums and:

Opened in safe mode and performed cleanboot-still freezes
Startup Repair from original Windows 7 CD 3 times-report says startingcorrectly.
Cleared all temp files and used Disk Cleanup Tool.

A number of Windows updates have failedand I’m not sure if this is related.
I attach the DM log collector file.

Could you please tell me what is wrong and advise me what to donow? Thanks guys!

Freezing might be caused by faulty drivers. It used to happen to me,my NIC driver wasn't working nice with Windows 7 and my Windows started freezing. And since you can go to Safe mode, freezing is probably caused by faulty drivers.
But,nevertheless you should check memory for problems.

I understand that updated drivers are included in Windows updates but there are 14 Windows updates that continually fail with Error code 80070308. Check SUR says that CBS MUM file is missing. See report attached.

I ran Memory Diagnostic Tool 3 times but it froze every time.

What should be my next step? I am going round in circles on this one.

Then it is probably RAM.
Try putting RAM stick in other slots on mobo and run memory check again.

Thanks for your suggestion. I've looked at the RAM and find that the PC has 4x512MB RAM sticks; two with black ends and 2 with white ends. There are no spare slots. How should I swap them round? Should I swap the two black ones around and then swap the two white ones?

Try removing first RAM stick then running memory check,if it still freezes put that RAM stick back and remove second one run memory check again and so on.

I've now checked each RAM stick on its own and by leaving one out in turn as you suggest without any freezing.

I've also put back all four and tested again without freezing.

So does that mean the RAM is all clear?

So you ran memory test for each stick and it found no errors?

Correct. I found no errors. What do you think I should do now?

It has not frozen since I checked the RAM. I just hope that I have solved it with your help. I will let it run and see what happens. I will let you know. Thanks for your help on this. I was very unsure what to do.

Hi there. Well I ran the PC all day yesterday with no freezing. When I checked the RAM I found one that seemed bit loose and since fixing it I have not had any more freezing. Thank you very much for your help. I will now mark this as solved. :)
