Poor image when using Adobe Reader

It seems lately, that any time I download a .pdf file and my adobe reader displays, it is of poor quality. It used to be quite crisp but now it is "jagged" For example: Notice the letter "O" in office or the "G". Seems no font change etc. Normal non pdf files are crisp and easily read. My reader file name ends with an "x" (Adobe Reader X)

Try this: go to settings, select Page Display preferences and make sure Laptop/LCD font smoothing option is selected. Restart the reader and see if this fixes anything.

In haste, the first thing I did was to uninstall Adobe Reader X. Then tried to install regular Adobe Reader 10.1.2, that failed with an error 1303. Tried again, same result. Next installed Adobe reader 9, that also had the "non smooth" images. Then following your suggestion, found the smoothing for laptop/LCD and that cured the problem. Thank you very much. Adobe has already "bugged me" about installing Adobe Reader X so I will probably do that again shortly.
