Enable on-board audio in BIOS and then install the drivers should be all that is needed.
Don't mess with Advanced boot options.

I disabled the Nvidea HD audio and sound works fine for about 5 mins then just stops, but it has no effect on the performance problem or spikes.

also it was only with a game that I was playing that the audio just stopped for other programs like my browser it worked fine.
