Solved Post Screen Pain In The butt

Whenever i restart my pc, the post screen takes a good minute to get past, its sucks as it would usually only ever take 3 secs or 4.

Whats the crack people, any ideas.???

there's a setting in your bios to change it ....(i think it's called quick boot or something like that.)

The option in the BIOS is generally called Quick Power on Self Test. Check that you haven't got this option set to Disabled as this will mean that the system will do a more extensive verification of hardware upon boot. For everyday use, you need to have this option set to Enabled to bypass many of the checks (the memory check is usually the one that is responsible for the increase in boot time). The only time you should have this option disabled (and therefore perform more checks at boot) is if you change any hardware or add more RAM, or with a new build until you can verify everything is working correctly.

Dont have such an option within my bios.

try unplugging your external hard drive. i had the same problem. my computer would hang at the boot screen when my 1tb external was plugged in.

Yes I say it could be your external hard-drive, as mine does the same. So try unpluging it.

And i agree with this as well.

I leave mine plugged and it takes quite a few seconds to register it during boot unless unplug it.
