Power Options arbitrarily change without my input?

For the past week I've been having a weird issue, without my input my power options have been changed multiple times from "My Custom Plan 1" to "Power Saver".

The main issue is that I use hibernate a lot and "Power Saver" only has sleep, which due to my finicky optic mouse can get woken up accidentally.

My windows copy is sorta borked (Win 7 Home Premium SP1) and has never managed to ever put the pc to sleep automatically, regardless of settings.

Since I have this issue only for a week or so and I turned off updates as they kept breaking my windows even more, can this only mean it's some kind of virus or malware (running tests now) or is there another way this could happen, e.g accidentally setting something I forgot about or some hotkey I don't know?

hi,

it might be 1 of ms's quirks--

do you have/use more than 1 desktop background, each 1 has its own settings so if you dont update each one it uses default values
or
hardware related, Sleep/hibernation settings in Bios, ssd defaults
software - any optimiser programs
hybrid sleep must be set to OFF

I have never used any optimizers and have bot installed any, at most avast or nvidia which might have such options, which I never used.
I haven't changed power options in years before they started changing automatically and hybrid sleep has been off the whole time.
I haven't touched bios / ssd in 5+ years
I have occasionally used the slideshow option for backgrounds and in the ~7.5 years I've been using Win 7 it has never done anything with power options.

It's also no Windows update as I turned them all off since I got more and more updates that broke arbitrary windows functions (e.g. once I became completely unable to install any new software from a minor security update).

I'm running a virus check atm but the other recent ones had nothing and I have barely set a foot out of big name company sites like crunchy or wiki or yt and then virtually only trusted online shops or stuff so probably it's not a virus or malware either (will post later after test is done).
