Basically,

Had to reinstall windows. Updated my Mobo, CPU and RAM.

I've noticed that after around 20 mins, aero changes to the basic theme, upon me nudging the mouse it changes back to Aero.

Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Mobo
i5 2500K CPU
8GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 RAM

Not sure why its doing it.

I've also changed my power setting to performance. Made sure that HDD never turns off, display doesn't turn off etc.

Anyone any ideas?

Hello Superleeds.

This may have happened if Windows was updating the WEI score if you have not previously done so since it was a new installation. Windows will go to the basic theme when the WEI score is being updated by default.

Doesn't it automatically do that during an install
"Checking video performance", just before "Updating Registry" or maybe after it.

I can't really remember now, haven't reinstalled in 2 months.

That's not the same thing that it's doing during installation. It's just checking to make sure that the system meets Windows 7 requirements.

It's normal though. If you didn't update the WEI score yourself after installation, then Windows 7 will do so automatically after some unknown amount of time when the computer is running and idle.
