Problem with video playback

I'm using Windows 7 Pro. I notice video playback only seems to work OK with WMP 11. Programs like Media Player Classic, VLC and Neuview show a noticeable stuttering. WMP doesn't have any sort of adjustments for brightness, contrast, saturation and so on. I've tried several different codec packs with no result. Has anyone found a solution? Thanks.

You can find some utilities which will control your display directly, I use and like this from Samsung for instance;

SAMSUNG learning resource - introduction

What monitor are you using?

Also, some hardware acceleration can cause problems, what video card are you using?

When Windows Media Player is in Playback mode, right-click the main windows, click Enhancements, then click Video Settings:

This will open the Video Settings window, which contains Hue, Brightness, Saturation and Contrast controls for video playback:

And for best results, you might want to download and install the Shark007 Codec Pack.
