Problem with yesterday's Update!

I let Win7 instal yesterday's 14 important updates (most of them security updates) on "shutdown".

My computer hangs on "Installing Update 5". It hung all night. Hung this morning.

I've powered off the machine (nothing else to do) and restarted in safe mode with network.

How should I proceed?

Don't install all 14 at once!
Take 5 at a time and let them install then go back and take another 5 and so on.
Too many at once usually is overwhelming from what I've seen and read in the past.
Post back and let me know how it goes.

Do a system restore to a point before you installed the updates, then run Windows update and do not install update #5 ... then install it by itself...

These both seem like good, pragmatic, suggestions and I'm sure they would do the trick, so thank you!

As it stands, booting into safe mode with network did the trick... by itself! Not sure how to explain it. I think it gave the installation process another go and worked. I wasn't there to see it. I just poked my head in and saw "Windows configuring updates... 98, 99, 100%" and then the sign in screen.

So... problem solved. Thanks.

Glad you solved your updates.
I usually install the smaller ones (KB) first and then do larger ones(MB) in pairs. It's worked for me in the past and I am sure there are other ways to do them.
