Hullo,

I followed the tutorial about creating an ISO image file from the installation files of the downloadable version of Win7 from The Ultimate Steal - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/30470-make-bootable-iso-student-d-l.html?filter. I used XP SP3 32bit

However the disc won't boot - I'm starting up the computer with the disc in and a blank hard drive, and it just tells me to select a bootable drive or insert bootable media and press any key - I press any key and the message repeats. It's clearly attempting to read from the DVD drive, but nothing happens.

I followed the instructions in the tutorial exactly - the only exception was that I used Nero to burn the image, not ISOburner or the Microsoft tool. This is becaouse ISOburner kept failing and kindly turned 4 of my DVD-Rs into shiny coasters, and the Microsoft download tool link is broken.

I don't think there's anything wrong with my DVD burner - it's quite new and I've had no problem with other things I've burned.

Is there a way around this, or should I just wait for the "disk kit" to arrive? (I'm assuming that is bootable?)

It's the 32bit version of Windows 7 by the way.
