Putting on a chrome border

Hey all, I need to put a chrome border on this, how would you go about doing that with GIMP?

Dont actually know how to do it in GIMP , but in photoshop you are to apply stroke to get a border

That border isn't what I really want. I want this to look like it belongs in the middle of a disc.

Though I'm going to give the colors a more 3-d effect rather than just a border.

If you want 3D effects on the colors, that's also possible

It is very nice, though I don't want the colors obscured so much, this is a "Memory" type game, see the colors flash and press the buttons in the same pattern.
