Hey guys I need some help with setting up a Quad boot system: i wont to have windows 8, 8.1 and ubuntu and backtrack all on the same main hard drive
I am currently running Windows 8 x64 and i made another partition and installed windows 8.1 x64 on that and then i went to install ubuntu and in the installation it doesnt detected my windows partitions and it shows my whole hard drive as available space, i think the problem is that i have a gpt style partition system because within ubuntu i went into the disk manager thing and that said something about that. So what shud i do now shud i format my whole hard drive and install ubuntu first?
Thanks

If this is a Windows 8 PC then you'll also need to disable Secure Boot in BIOS.

I would strongly consider changing BIOS to Legacy or CSM with MBR Boot firstto avoid the hassles of the UEFI crapware which offers no real benefits but plenty of headaches.

So you'd then delete all partitions during install to clear the GPT formatting, create and format new partitions to adapt a Dual Boot - Windows 7 and Linux - Windows 7 Forums
