[Solved]RAM issues, help please!
Hello, thanks in advance for the help all.
I've visited quite a few forums looking for a solution to my problem, and am not satisfied with the answers I've found on them, so I also apologize if this is getting redundant.
I have 6 gigs of ram running Windows 7 Ultimate x64; However, it only says I have 3.99 gigs usable.
These are the steps I've performed all ready:
1) Made sure msconfig->boot->advanced options->max memory was NOT checked
2) Looked in my bios for a memory remap option, unable to find one. I find it hard to believe that my motherboard wouldn't support this much memory as it can support up to 24 gigs.
Some additional information: Windows Vista Ultimate x64 shows i have 6 gigs of ram (however, not initially... only after I installed the service packs)
I do not have an integrated video card, so no RAM is getting allocated to that.
I've also read on a few forums that this is the free memory I have AFTER windows uses its amount, and find this unlikely.
In my Task Manager->Performance tab it shows
Physical Memory(mb)
Total: 4087
Cache: 919
Available: 2806
Free: 2029
So is this normal? how do I fix this? Any help would be appreciated.
