Solved Random BSOD's

Hey everyone,

I've experienced 2 BSOD's today both, if I am correct, caused by atikmdag.exe or something like that.
Last year I experienced the same errors a couple of times, first I thought it was my AMD driver so I reinstalled that (cleaned out all the AMD / ATI files by hand, also cleaned my register.) The problem was gone for a while after that, yesterday I decided to update my graphics drivers and since then I experience the BSOD's again.
I've also had a feeling it had something to do with MSI Afterburner because most of the times I did experience a lockup (these weren't BSOD's, just lockups) it was when I launched MSI Afterburner, which makes me think it might be my hardware (GPUs, or perhaps PSU?), but then again 30 minutes ago I was watching a video on my PC and my PC locked up aswell.
(By lockup I mean my screen is frozen and there's like a minigun sound on loop)

My specs:

Motherboard: Asus P8Z68-V PRO Gen3
CPU: Intel i5 - 2500k @ stock speeds
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600Mhz Dual Channel
GPU: 2x Sapphire r9 290 - crossfire
Storage: 3 SSD's, 3 HDD's
PSU: Corsair CM750 (cutting it close I know)
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
AMD Driver: 14.12 (Omega)
(MSI Afterburner: 4.1.0)

DM Log Collector attachment

I don't think this has anything to do with it but I'm no expert so I'll just add this,
lately my PC also sits on the Motherboard / bios splash screen for a really long time.
My PC used to boot up in about 20 to 30 seconds, (Windows is installed on my OCZ Agility 3 120GB SSD)
but now it takes maybe 4/5 times as long.

If I need to post any other information let me know.

Thanks in advance

Hello and welcome Soldier mate it looks like you still have graphics problems and the dump file is advising uninstalling the Cat Cont Centre and installing the driver only - try it, and post back.

There are also some info on the 3.0 driver needing some fixing z/ driver update

Hey thanks for your help man, I think that might have solved it, I didn't experience any BSOD's yesterday.
So far so good.

Thanks again :)

Good to hear and really an easy fix.:)

Now just as a matter of interest I used to have AMD graphics and had nothing but problems with them and switched to NVidia and to be honest never a problem at all. I think the problem with the AMD stuff is within the Catalyst Control Centre itself being rather convoluted in my mind. But others may disagree and if it works now then no probs but keep that in mind.

Haha, yeah I hear that often, but to be honest I've never had any problems, Nvidia or AMD. (Except now of course)
I do clean out my drivers by hand though (express uninstall and clean the remaining files by hand and the register aswell.) That always worked.

Besides you can purchase 2 (used) r9 290's for the price of 1 gtx970 which is ridiculous (perhaps even new ones by now)

Oh well.

Cripes I ma only into the small stuff mate my most expensive one is a GTX 650Ti only cos I don't game otherwise I would go better than that.

It is ridiculous I think you might agree that the high end GPU's are as expensive as a fairly competent build now. I mean the CPU in this Asus ROG gaming laptop of mine comes in at $378 tray value which means it is a quarter of the cost of the whole machine!!
