Well here's the story, I have a Custom PC with a i7 3770k And a AsROcK b75-pro-3m motherboard with Realtek HD audio, but for some odd reason the sound is not very good, it feels moderate at full blast, where as in comparison with my very old C2D fujitsu Lifebook T4215 tablet PC, which can play music with these headphones at BLASTING noise (i tested out the headphones on another computer to ensure it's not them)

I notice too that a lot of these sites like the system specs so i shall list for you

Mobo: AsRoCk B75-Pro-3-M board
CPU: Intel Core i7 3770K HT On 3.5GHZ
Sound: Realtek High Definition audio with the latest driver, Set at studio quality (aka Highest quality)
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1

I've also tried the headphones on 3 of the audio ports (Front green, rear green, Rear Black (red microphone ones do not work) ), switching from the speakers to digital output and 2nd input, and fettling about in The software Realtek has with this rather than windows own sound options, nothing working. (i've also checked the volume mixer)

I'm pretty sure with this being a near brand new computer it should be more than capable of delivering very very loud audio, I wouldn't mind shelling out on a little sound card which can make it louder, but i would be happier with a solution i can do right here right now without shelling out anything.

Danke :D

Zashko~

Hi Zashko~,
What type of speakers are you using, or is it just the headphones volume.

Headphones volume, i have a pair of dell speakers (though i'd only wanna use them for when people are out) and they blast as usual but again not wanna use em only for occasions

THX tru studio came preinstalled with the computer :3 i tried fettling with them but it's kinda just changed the sound quality rather than volume :o

Also to add on all the boosts and that are on in the enhancements tab

So from within Windows 7, from right clicking on the volume control in the task tray and going to playback devices, nothing in those settings helped?

Levels tab in particular.

This is why I've gone with a discrete sound card and disabled onboard audio since 2006. Any mobo I've had with onboard audio is too quiet to drive speakers, and the recording level for Stereo Mix or Wave (what I hear) is too low to be useful.

All maxxed out.

Considering getting one, as i sometimes like to stream i'd like hardcore good sound quality, how loud and good quality can a say decent sound card (PCI-E?) go?
