Realtek issues with Windows 7

Hi delvinv,

Did you try the method shown here Device Manager - Install Driver - Vista Forums (I know that this is from Vista Forums, but the same method works in Windows 7). This is the method that I use.

@umarrehman187: Have you tried this method?

I see delvinv you have an ati video card, so you should try to disable Powerplay function (PowerMizer is the corrispective nvidia feature). You'll find how on google i think.:D

so are you saying, if i do that the noise will disappear for everyone having problems with realtek?

and if so, how does the video card have to do wit hthe sound? sorry just curious

I just noticed that the mp3 reproduction get significantly worse when i have a web browser (ie firefox, explorer etc) opened...(in fact many ppl in the other thread give the fault to the wireless device)
After some days of research with google i saw that that kind of svga features (PowerPlay and PowerMizer) are bad implemented in Windows Seven: i saw with gpu-z that when the svga changes his clock (due to energetic save) all the system "lags" and the audio "pops".
After i disabled the PowerMizer feature finally all worked fine...i hope you can solve it too

Google is truly a good friend.

with a simple search i managed to find a forum where there is a walkthrough to disabling powerplay. since it involved a lot of steps, i have procrastinated it to this saturday.

once done i will update all of you here and possibly mark this thread as solved (Hopefully)

thanks for a great discovery.

I see disabling PowerPlay is not as easy as disabling PowerMizer (somebody talks about flashing the card bios..).
I hope you'll manage to, otherwise you have to wait for a decent driver for Seven :(

its always a good idea to start a new thread. anyways the solution is simple. since you are running nvidia, disable your graphic cards' powermizer feature, just google search "disable powermizer", you will get the solution.
