C-11 I just got IE9 back about 10 mins ago, it (Windows 7) updated automatically. First when I shut down I had to wait while it installed 40 updates. Then the 2nd time it installed 104 updates (took over an hour before it shut down), when I turned it back on, it updated back to IE9.

OldMX I restored to Factory Defaults, my laptop didn't come come with IE9, Windows 7 updated it automatically for me about a year after. So I didn't know if I would have to install it myself. But waiting an hour is a small price to pay, as everything seems to be back in order.

I also had to reinstall Adobe Flash Player, which I just did. It won't run because Java script is not enabled in my browser. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Thanks. Just want to know what the "Clean Up Battery Bloatware" will remove. It's not a problem for me as everything for me is back to normal (unless I'm missing some small things) and I have 245 of 283 GB free. My USB stick came with 14.5 GB and when I finished backing up I still 11.4 GB left.

Like I said there are some things that came with Acer that I'd like to keep, but the rest can go, I have no use for it.

Also why do CDs play in CyberLink Power DVD (though it sounds better, cleaner) than Windows Media Player. Before and CD/DVD would automativally play in Windows Media Player now it plays in CyberLink I don't get a choice of medium to play it in. And what is CyberLink.

Cyberlink is useless crapware that is bundled into preinstalled WIn7 to spy on you and try to sell you stuff. Like all bloatware it is not needed and cumulatively throttles Win7 from its normal instantaneous state. I would uninstall it and anything else you don't specifically use regularly. The steps to do this best are in the tutorial.

Post a shot of disk management, so we can take a look and see if we can add another partition to put a disk image on. That way when your done setting it up how you like, you can create an image in case this happens again in the future.

Read up on creating a disk image with windows 7.
