One of my pc's has had troubles ever since I "upgraded" to W10.
It is an AthlonII 235e on an Asrock N68C-S UCC which has the NVIDIA GeForce 7025/ nForce 630a chipset. To get it to update to W10, I had to perform a clean install, and also fit a GT710 graphics card.
Unfortunately, every W10 update causes it to throw a wobbly and require a fresh install.
Fortunately, I still have the W7 disc/ product key, and it always ran fine with the onboard graphics with 7.
The W7 disc includes sp1, is using this for a clean install the best option, or is there a more up to date option available?

Clean install is always best unless you have a backup image

I was wondering whether there was any way of avoiding some of the huge number of updates since sp1.
I vaguely recall Microsoft announcing some sort of accumulation of updates to make re installing less of a pain.
The pc will be donated to the museum where I am a volunteer, to replace one of the aging XP machines.

You can recommend the iso adding all updates with nlite

Over the last four hours, I have successfully clean installed W7 hp 32 and barring six unimportant updates which I have left to the museum IT guy to evaluate, there are 66 updates installed, 100% fine. I have never managed 100% before.

I wasn't sure what I was doing as the instructions were vague as always, this is what I did:
First, KD3020369 was downloaded and installed.
Second, KB3125574, for this you need IE11 and WinZip before it will download and run.
Finally, KB3172605.
Then I ran Windows update as normal, but downloaded and installed in small batches, not more than four at a time.
I put Malwarebytes free edition on and set up Windows Defender with Windows firewall.
I will call it "The Megahertz Method".
