The printer is officially compatible with Win7, I finally got the driver, via Microsoft compatibility page I got the the American Canon page, and there was a driver..which wasn't at the Hungarian one, weird. So it will have to work.
Regarding the DVD-drive, tried updates, FixIt, troubleshooting, FixIt saw that there's a problem but didn't salve it. Windows's device manager said everything is working fine
