Reinstalling Windows 7: something goes wrong

Hello!

I've a problem after last reinstallation of Windows 7


I use Samsung RV511 laptop - it was delivered with a tool called Samsung Recovery Solution. I have a Windows 7 and it was always organised like that

1) Two partitions: C:\ (system partition) and D:\
2) On D:\ I have always kept important data, and on C:\ only programs and other things that were easy to recover

In critical situations I always recover Windows 7 on disc c:\ to the initial form (clear Windows) and partition D:\ remained intact. But this time after reinstallation, for unknown reasons for me, I see that there is only C:\ with the capacity of both C:\ and D:\ together, but data from D:\ has been lost :c

Is there any option to recover even a part of the data from D:\?

Exactly what Windows recovery, DVD or USB, was used? If you used a Factory Restore USB or DVD or from the hidden partition on the hard-drive: if partition D did not exist when the laptop left the factory or reseller, then after such a recovery, the partition D will no longer exist.
There are ways to recover partition D -- going forward, do NOT allow Windows or anything program or utility to write onto the hard-drive; the more writes, the less likely a recovery of partition D. We can give you a possible solution process - after we know exactly what was done before you posted this thread.
Samsung Recovery Solution -- sounds like a factory restore to me; if I'm wrong, please advise.

Thanks for reply. Samsung Recovery Solution - is a built-in tool related with a recovery partition with clear Windows 7. What was done before I wrote this - I reinstalled Windows 7 (just restored from recovery partition) and now I had only clear system. I tried Recuva, but it doesn't show anything before reinstalling system.

I know, but I was sure that in this case only the disk containing the operating system will be formatted (C and D: will keep all data. Unfortunately I don't remember if only C: was existing just after I bought laptop (in 2011), but I've been doing this before and all software and data, desktop settings from C: (system partition) has returned to original form (as when laptop left the factory), but D: survived. But not this time, and I made a mistake somewhere along the way. The fact is that now I show 414 GB free space of 444 GB on the only C: partition and it's almost empty
