How can i COMPLETELY remove a system image?

Just go to the location you saved it, right-click on the WindowsImageBackup folder, and delete it.

If I understand you correctly this should do it.

Click Start -> Search: Backup -> Open "Backup and Restore" -> Click "Manage Space" -> Delete

At the bottom there (below "Backup location"), there should be two other sections called "Data file backup" and "System image." There should be an option to Delete any backups you currently have on your drive.
