Repeated error sound and repeated entrance of letter "Q"

HI!
I've been researching this issue for a while and cant find any solution. If anyone have any ideas what could be causing please let me know. I will be very thankful for any help, and sorry if there was a similar thread, I must have missed it.

From time to time (maybe every 15-20 minutes) my computer starts making windows error sound. The error sound than sounds like for every 2 seconds for a span of 10 seconds.

Every time the sound comes on, a letter "q" instantly is entered like 10 times..So If I am typing this right now and problem comes on, I would have lots of letters "q" to delete. If I play a game or watch a movie though, it seems there are no problem.. I did scan the whole computer for viruses and its clean.

Install Service Pack 1:

Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 6.1.7600 Build 7600

• Learn how to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)

Service Pack 1 has introduced many security and stability updates for Windows 7, and therefore not installing Service Pack 1 can leave you more vulnerable to malware and crashes.

Install all Important and Optional Windows Updates via Windows Update:

Start rb: > Type: Windows Update > Install Updates/Scan for Updates

Remove Daemon Tools Lite:

Start Menu\Programs\DAEMON Tools Lite

Daemon Tools is a common cause of BSODs within Windows 7, and as a result it is highly recommended you remove this program.

Run full scans with Malwarebytes and Microsoft Security Essentials:

• Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows
• Anti-rootkit utility TDSSKiller

:info: MSE has proven to much more stable and been less problematic with Windows 7, make sure the security definitations for both MSE and Malwarebytes are fully updated before scanning.

Please run the following test for your RAM:

Run Memtest86+ for least 7-8 passes, and preferrly overnight as it can take a while to fully complete.

Test each RAM stick individually, if an error is found then move the same RAM stick into the next DIMM slot and test again, if errors are found for the same RAM stick in every available slot then you have a faulty RAM module. On the other hand, if no errors are found in the next slot or the other slots for the same RAM module, then you have a faulty DIMM slot.

Test each RAM stick and every motherboard DIMM slot available.

Thanks a lot for your help!

I don't know which one of your steps helped, but it worked. I have been working all day and no problems.

I think after installing Service Pack, I still had the problem(though it definitely wasn't a bad idea to install it). But then Security Essentials and TDSSKiller picked up some stuff that my Malwarebytes did not. After that my PC is more peaceful with me. No error sounds.
