Resizing using Paint.NET

I have some real nice wallpapers that I have resized - at least I think that is what happened - to a smaller size to fit my monitor screen.

I save the image and hit Personalize and put up what I think is the resized picture only to find it is the same - way too big for the screen.

Could someone give me a nudge in the right direction please.

Are you resizing the canvas?

If the dimensions of the image you are saving is not equal to your desktop resolution then... well, it'll be fitted, centered or scaled depending on what you've chosen.
Make sure to save the file as another file so that you can compare the two. You will be able to check the dimensions of each file in the properties for it, or in Explorer's details for the file.

Best you save as a different file format since I don't think you can use Paint.NET's file format.

Do you have Office 2010? MS Office 2010 has a picture manager that will resize.

MS Paint will also resize.

I use Paint.NET a lot, and it's a great program...can't beat the price either. It sounds like you aren't resizing the images to the proper dimensions. What is the native resolution of your screen?

Ok sorry late reply really been too hot to be in here :(

I have tried both the canvas and the resize and just altered the pixel counts. The res of my screen is 1080x1920 @ 60Hz and yes I have Office 2010 on that machine.


Now I have tried reducing the number of pixels in that resize screen but as I said it seems to get even bigger and really not very clear.
