Before I installed the RC1 I did a backup of my files with Vista Home Premium. Now with Win 7 I did a restore and some of my AVI files would not restore. One of the things that did not restore were my browser favorites and it seems they are lost...or are they???

More importantly, I cannot get on my wireless network. Is this a matter of the wireless adapter drivers? The wifi is built into my mobo.

Now I'm concerned that if I reinstall Vista I'll still not have access to the files that did not transfer over.

Thanks!!

Have you checked to ensure that the driver for the wireless is installed?
To to this, go to Start and type in "devmgmt.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
Look for any devices with red X's or yellow !'s

Here's the tutorial for restoring Vista files, did you follow all the steps that are present in Win7? Restore Backup Files - Vista Forums I don't know much about the backup process, so I can't help with that.

Thanks, John. What I did was use the "back up and restore" feature but chose to keep the new file when a duplicate was found instead of replacing it with the new old one.

I did not know there steps to follow in Win7.
