True, rFactor works in Windows 7, but there does appear to be a problem with the DVD version 1.255 - after quitting the game, Windows 7 no longer recognizes discs in my DVD drive until I reboot my system. I'd guess that there are some issues with the DVD copy protection scheme that are causing issues in Windows 7. Does anyone have a fix for this?

Hmm... That might be your system. I am running the rfactor version you download straight from their site and have no issues. Rfactor does not require a dvd/cd once you do the initial activation.

My rig:
Win7 x64 RC v7100
Dual 3.4GHz Xeons
8G RAM
EVGA 285 GTX 1Gig
Logitech MOMO Racing wheel/pedals (x64 Logitech driver installed.)

It's not my system, since I've spent the last two months installing about 50 of the 100+ PC games I own, and documenting the problems I've come across, and so far there have been very few (hint: the few problems have all been related to the copy protection schemes some games are using).

What you're apparently not aware of is that the download version of rFactor uses online activation, while the 1.255 version that comes on DVD uses SafeDisc copy protection (which is why I'm required to have the disc in the drive to play the game while you are not). So it looks like the SafeDisc protection that comes with rFactor 1.255 DVD version has compatibility issues with Windows 7.

My rig:
Win7 x64 RC v7100
Intel Q6600 running at 3.6Ghz
8GB RAM
1TB HD x 2
BFG 280 GTX 1Gig
Ageia PhysX PCIe card
Logitech Driving Force racing wheel/pedals (x64 Logitech driver installed)

"rFactor working fine on my system with Seven RC x64 too."

Which rFactor? download or DVD version? And if DVD version, I'm not concerned with how well rFactor runs, I'm concerned with how well your DVD drive functions after you've run rFactor and quit out of it.

rF issue here too. Online version, btw. It starts fine, but when I click on 'load circuit' it just CTDs instantly.

I'm also new to Win 7 and x64. Coming from XP x86. Yeah, I know :D Anyway, be gentle :P

Same issue here

Same thing as the above poster. Crashes out to desktop when I click the 'load circuit' button.

I have 2 machines, both are running Win 7 x64. The laptop loads and runs no problems, but the desktop is the one that has the crashing issue.
