I brought two brand new Sabrent 6 Channel 5.1 Sound 3D PCI Sound Cards. Installed both on two exact systems except one is running windows XP and the other is running Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit.

No problems installing card and driver in the XP machine, but the window 7 doesn't even pick up that's it's there. I tried to installed the driver hoping maybe this will cause windows to see the card but the installation starts and after a few seconds comes up with and error message that says "Do not support this platform 0" this is coming from the CD that came with the card.

I tried downloading and installing the driver from Sabrent, and C-Media and with each installation attempt same error message. Does anyone have any idea?

Yes I've contacted them and they are at a lost as to why the error message. Could it be a setting of some kind in windows?, say in he registry?

Swap the cards between the two PC's and see what happens. Could be one of the cards has a problem?

I have the same exact problem. It won't install. Same errors "Do not support this platform 0". I ran it again, and again and it finally started running the install but it never stopped. And the sound card does not work. Sabrent Sound card model SBT-SP6C. It doesn't work,. I don't want to waste money on it even if it was only TEN DOLLARS!! I got better things to spend $10 on.

And for some reason I think it is trying to setup the Vista drivers for my Win7 Operating system. So, I navigated to the Win7 directory and ran the setup from there, rather than the top directory, and still, no workie.

Running setup.exe is easy. I ain't doing anything wrong. Btw, when I booted up after installing the card.. Win7 didn't even act like it saw anything new! Like no plug and play! I was like, hmmm.. thats odd.. It just gets worse from there.. The thing doesn't work right. Sabrent is a Scam!

extra: I updated my system from microsoft.com and I was able to get the Sabrent drivers to install. Then I rebooted and went to the configure page and clicked on a tab and BLUE SCREEN! So, out it came! JUNK! Returning it to Microcenter..
