Safari 4.0

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, if it isn't, feel free to move to the appropriate section.

I was wondering if there's any Adblock for Safari 4.0. Also, is there any way to run user scripts? Safari seems to be faster than Chrome and Firefox, but those are the two things that's keeping me from using Safari as default browser.

So, if anyone have any ideas, I would appreciate it.

Try Ad Muncher. Just Google Ad Muncher. Don't use Safari, albeit it works with Opera, Firefox, and IE. In Fact don't ever see me not using it; there is a fee for it, however, you can demo (full) for thirty days, hence give it a try. If you do try it out please let us know how it works......Thanks

You can set up Privoxy which is free to block ads. I haven't tested it in Safari, but dont see why it wouldn't work, because it's just a proxy you route your traffic through.

thanks for the advice...i'm using privoxy right now and it works well enough...may give admuncher a try

i like firefox better though

I used privoxy with Chrome and it worked well. Safari is very similar to Chrome in a lot of areas and like Chrome it uses the internet settings from IE so you would configure the proxy in there and safari would pick that up.

Yeah, Privoxy works in Safari very similar to Chrome. Not a fan of privoxy though. When I was running Chrome, I used Adsweep or Adblock Plus script.

Just installed Ad Muncher (v4.73 beta build 30615), the other version (4.72) doesn't work with Windows 7. So far, it seems to be great.

Macs have a host file (/etc/hosts) similar to Windows, though I've never actually tried to set up ad blocking in OS X with it.
