I'm not well enough inform with computer tech to know the proper terms, so forgive my ignorance as I try to describe my problem. Thanks in advance...
I only use this computer for personal and reference, not for gaming. I just need to be able to read the screen, so there is probably a lot to this machine I don't need. But it just started this weird fluttering onscreen...like it is trying to adjust itself but never gets to that point. It leaves me looking at trails of shadows after everything (words, picks stc.) on screen. Windows Fix-it says it has something to do with the AERO settings and that my graphics card does not support it. I have had this computer for almost 5 years and I did not change any settings before this happened. It started after having my computer in sleep mode for overnight and it starts up after having the computer on for a couple of minutes.
Also, I probably need to learn more about updating drivers, as I don't know if I do it correctly or if I am re-updating same driver twice.
Thanks for helping a little ol lady, with a computer that's a lot bigger than her.

Your graphics card might be dying. Not sure though. Does it say your drivers are not compatible or that your card is not compatible?

Thank you for helping me out, Arenaslicer. No, nothing is saying the Graphics card is not compatible, but it could be going out...I suppose. It came pre-installed in the tower and it's 5 years old. Do they go out that fast? I don't even use my putor everyday...? And, I keep it blown out, dust free.
Windows Mr. Fix-it ran a troubleshooter and it did come back saying the video card does not support Aero effects. Maybe it is going out or might be because of this...
About 4 months ago, no videos would play so I updated the video card. I browsed my computer and found three files. I picked the middle one :o, and then everything went back to normal. I admit to not really knowing much about the files...and it gets confusing. I kinda rely on forums for help.
Should I try uninstalling the drivers, then do a reinstall? I'm not sure about how to do that...but I follow instruction pretty good :)

The fan on the graphics card might have died or is dying but that probably isn't the case.
You might want to try a driver uninstall and re-install and see if that fixes the problem.
This is how i uninstall drivers and some people may do it differently but this works pretty good.
First download the newest drivers for your graphics card: Drivers | GeForce (I found the drivers for your card already)
Then Download Display Driver Uninstaller from this site: Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 13.6.4.1
Then run Display Driver Uninstaller and select: "Uninstall the current and previous drivers and restart the computer"
Once your computer restarts install the new drivers.
Tell me how it goes.

Ok, I was unaware that there was a fan underneath the graphics card, And....you were on to something, Arenaslicer. When I cleaned it, with the air, I was surprised to see how much dust was inside of it. And, now my screen works perfect. Thanks for that information.
Somebody told me (before I knew about computers)..."go ahead, just mess around with it. You can't hurt anything." Well, I don't know how true that is....and I don't believe it is, anyways. But, what happened to mine sure tells me there is a need to know and understand what makes it work, and take proper care so you can mess around without hurting anything. There's a lot I need to learn :).
I'm still going to do some clean up and maintenance, which includes making sure ALL my drivers are updated and correct. I'm sure I will be right back here, asking for guidance, again. Thanks for the help....so much!

Great! So glad I could help you!
Keeping your computer clean both data wise and dust wise is a very good way to keep it running longer and faster.
This is not really related to this topic but here's a good program to help clean out some junk files: https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
I suggest using the regular and registry cleaner, it will help clear some unneeded files off your hard drive.
If you need any help just ask i'm sure there are lots of knowledgeable people on this forum.
