Second month in a row with security updates disabling startup programs

Since October security updates and again now in November, I have had to reinstall Privatefirewall, Rainlendar and System Explorer to get them to run again at startup, WHY is Windows doing this?? Rainlendar is just a calendar program, Privatefirewall is of course a firewall, and I have no intention of not using it, and System Explorer is just an easier way to view running processes, none of these programs should be affected by any Windows security updates at all yet each time they are disabled and I have to go thru hell to get them enabled to run at startup again. This is getting ridiculous, particularly since there is no firewall enabled at all until I manually run Privatefirewall.

I posted this in the Windows Update forum since the problem happens after updates are installed, is there another forum to post it to where someone may have any ideas?

so nobody at all has a problem with any programs set to run at startup being disabled after windows updates? Just me? Or is anyone with any knowledge still using Windows 7?

Hi Gem,

I haven't heard anyone else having issues with monthly updates disabling startup programs. Googling hasn't located any others with your issue either.

I did have an issue with monthly updates trashing my Linux partition a few months back but not now!
