Securely encrypt drives before syncing them to Amazon S3 Cloud

I intend to backup my whole system, secondary and external HDDs to Amazon Cloud. Currently my drives are not encrypted at all. I'm running Windows 10 (no UEFI).

I was wondering what is the best way to securely encrypt private data before uploading it to Amazon's cloud? I would like to have on the fly encryption, so there would be no need to create a container any sync it manually with Amazon's cloud software afterwards, but rather sync and encrypt the whole drive in real-time.

Quite some people recommend Boxcryptor, but it doesn't support Amazon's Cloud. Cryptomator seems like a good choice, but how secure is it, since it's not open source? There is also Duplicati, SyncBackPro and StableBit, do you have any experience with any? How do they compare? Any other recommendations?

Hi:

There are enough fundamental differences between Win7 and Win10 "under the hood" that you might want to pose your question over in our sister forum at tenforums.com?

3rd-party software that works under 7 may not work under 10...
The folks at the other forum may be able to better assist you (even though most of them are "the same" folks as the ones here.;))

Sorry I cannot help with your specific question, as I have no experience with the products you mention.
Another option, however, might be to use a different cloud backup service that already includes robust encryption?
While I fully understand the need for security, I get a little nervous when I think about layers and layers of encryption, before, during and after backup. It just seems as though there are many potential failure points that might result in the eventual loss of data or inability to recover it...
IOW, can there be too much of a good thing?
<just musing>

Cheers,
MM

Hi,
Indeed TenForums might be a better place to ask,

How do you know Amazon "cloud" even supports encrypted uploading ?
