I was running the Win7 preview on my laptop, and when retail came out, I wiped it out and installed the final version. It's running fine, but..

Windows Update is not giving me updates for Security Essentials.

I thought Update was supposed to do that? Am I doing something wrong here, or does 7 final not do that? If that's the case, how do I get it to check for virus scanner updates like it does for Win Defender?

That's really bizarre that it does it that way, especially when Defender gets its updates through Windows Update.

MSE uses the underpinnings of Windows Update to get its updates thought Microsoft Update, but it now silently accepts those select updates so you never see them.
