security settings customization

What I would like to do is give a non-administrative profile the ability to install programs, but still not have access to the personal files on the other profiles . I have been messing around in the security settings but am not sure which items to give that profile access to so that they can only run exe files without my admin password.

Anyone know if this is possible?

I dont think so... It would defeat the purpose of having an "limited" account.

Why not just disable sharing of your files you dont want seen and make this 2nd account an admin as well?

That would work, but if that person is also an administrator would'nt they be able to bypass that and still access my files?

I have never set up more than one profile on our family PC before so I am new to this aspect of windows.

It should work...

I created a Guest account and even though I am adminstrator, I cannot see the Guest account folder. So yes, it should work...

Yes, I've seen this screen too. What I don't like is the message "to permanently gain access to this folder....". If you follow through they just have to enter their password to unlock it.

Thanks though, I appreciate the input!
