Seeing contents of Midi Karaoke DVD then moving to HD

I run a karaoke business. I needed to have foreign language karaoke. I bought a machine off of Amazon. It's nice, but i have to work it with a remote control and it only has a few video out options.

I current use Virtual DJ and i go out of my PC HDMI to a 4 way splitter and then out to the TVs. I really want to move all the music from the DVD over to the hard drive so i can do everything from one spot. It would streamline my job like crazy and be a lot better performance for the guests i have.

Here is the problem. I don't know what format the files are in. I can't see them. I have opened folder options and selected to see hidden files and also to show system files. Nothing shows up in the DVD when i put it in the computer. Just that there is a DVD there and a Desktop.ini file It does not play in any DVD player program.

This DVD contains 50000+ songs, i believe they are in MIDI format. I really only need the music and lyrics of course, the background videos would be a plus but are not needed.

I have a recording studio.

If they are only MIDI files, they are just "data" files, not actually music files like wav or MP3. You should be able to just copy the contents to a folder on the hard drive.

If they are actually Karaoke song files then you need to "rip" the songs to a folder on the hard drive. I have a copy of PC DJ, that I keep in my studio for those that want to record using Karaoke backing tracks, and it came with a copy of "Audiograbber" that will rip CD+G Karaoke songs from discs.

Until you find what is actually on the disc and the format you are lost.

That's my real question. How do I see the contents of this DVD? How can the contents be hidden? I opened Virtual DJ to see if that could "see" the files, nothing.

I wonder if the DVD is actually good? Is it a commercial DVD or something someone burned?

DVD is commercial. It did come with a karaoke player though. I wonder if it's a proprietary format? Even so i should be able to see the files right?

If it came with a special player, I would suspect its a proprietary format and copy protected. Some copy protected schemes will hide the contents.

Either way. I want to pull the contents off of the DVD and play them on the computer, anyone have thoughts?

Check with the DVD vendor, maybe they have something they will sell that will do what you want.

i have tried to access the karaoke disc in order to use them as backing track. However, whats inside the disc are files that has this name extensions: .d00, .d01, .d02 files ect... it comes in large file sizes so i think the midi file is inside those files i mentioned.

Have you tried the free "Audograbber"? It will rip Karoke discs, both the backing music track and the track with the song lyrics.

I have the same problem. I need to extract those .d00-.d04 files. Has anyone resolved this issue? Or any other way to play the Karaoke DVD with .d00 files?

Note: Any Karaoke PC Player does not work, Audiograbber does not work as well.
