I experience random Not Responding messages in almost every program I use. I infrequently get the BSOD. There are 2 programs that consistently have problems: Quicken and NewsRover. When I attempt to backup Quicken the program hangs for about 30 seconds, 9 out of 10 times. The event viewer does not list any of these hangs. I am using Quicken Deluxe 2012, Revision R 7 (2.1.1.7.18). Also, when I use my news reader (NewsRover Version 18.1 Revision 5) it crashes almost every time I use the program (95 times out of a hundred). Here are some basics for my computer: Windows Ultimate; 64 bit; Service Pack 1; 8GB ram; Asus computer; 850GB free on my backup drive; AMD Athlon™ II 2 X 220 2.80 GHz processor. I would like to figure this out before the BSOD becomes a regular occurrence.

Hi, there are no .dmp files in the attachment.

Please check this tutorial and configure settings for small memory dumps:
However, I can still recommend a few stuff seeing the other files:

You seem to be having a lot of hard drive errors.

Upload a screenshot of your hard drive(s) using CrystalDiskInfo:
Make a hard drive test from the hard drive manufacturers website:
Run Disk Check on your hard disk for file system errors and bad sectors on it:
Hard drive test both short and long with:
Hard drive test with DOS:
Norton is a frequent cause of BSOD-s, uninstall it with the Norton Removal Tool and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials TO TEST. (You can install it back if it is not the cause or source of the problem)
Microsoft Security Essentials.
Recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability compared to other antiviruses/internet security software. It is free and lightweight:-
   Warning
:ar: Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes; remember to deselect that option when prompted.

Run a full scan with both (separately) once downloaded, installed and updated.

For monitoring the heat/celsius of the system, use Speccy or HWinfo:
Perform a System File Check:
  1. Click on the start :orb:
  2. Type CMD on Search
  3. Left click and Run as Administrator
  4. Type SFC /scannow
Full tutorial here:
Reduce items at start-up. Nothing except anti-virus is required:
Keep us posted of further BSOD-s and improvement after making the above changes.
