Hello,

Ive recently built a new comp and put win 7 on it. Now, I was wondering about the new/differant builds. Looks like I have build 7100. And thus far really like, alot!

Should I download a new build?

What are the differences? Will I notice?

Where Do I get new builds?

Thanks alot!

The new build (7127 is the only new 1 so far) is available on most torrent sites. If you are having no issues with the RC build 7100 then you may not notice any difference, although, 7127 does seem a bit faster.

Upgrade to 7127

I have already run a comparison of the 7127 to the 7100 and found no speed increase, and the 7127 has the same bugs I found on the 7100, mainly in the graphics control services, and found another bug in it.
In the Services changes settings. In an attempt to change the Service settings that I don't use (like HomeGroup) I get a "Access Denied" pop-up.

So, it would seem I would stand to gain very little. Might even be worth it to stay with 7100?

Fpr me, Ive only had a problem with movies being choppy in background (even with HD movies like off itunes) and bad quality. Ive messed around with settings on both monitor and video card. Helped a little. Im suspecting it is my monitor.

Also, if I upgrade lan port driver on mobo it wont work. Easy fix by rolling back driver.

Thats about it for me with regards to problems.

Anyways, final vote is to stay with 7100???

I've recently upgraded from the RC to 7127 and this is what I noticed:
1) start up and shutdown speeds have decreased (not a lot but it is noticeably slower)
2) 7127 still has the 2 control icons on my desktop toolbar (unacceptable for this problem to still exist)
3) on initial startup of 7127 nod32 was disabled and removed as a startup program (fixed it by manually adding it in msconfig)
4) sony ericsson pc suite wouldn't recognise my phone (fixed by terminating the service and restating it)
so far on MY laptop 7127 has more problems than the RC. I still cannot believe there are 2 control panel icons on my desktop toolbar and there is no way to remove the rogue icon.

2) 7127 still has the 2 control icons on my desktop toolbar (unacceptable for this problem to still exist)

That's there to give the option of running the main control panel or just running a particular component within control panel. It's not technically a problem as such.

As far as migration from 7100 to 7127 there is very little difference between the 2. I did migrate but i'm just an install freak :p

it's unnecessary tho. one click in control panel gives you the view you want. i hate that there are 2...(but i am quite anal like that)..:p

7127 is an improvement over the RC (7100) and its usability does appear faster, with quite a bit of additional support for hardware and games' compatibility. I recommend it over 7100.

This is LINK REMOVED for 7127.

this is totally subjective though because on my set up 7127 is worse. i had no problems with the rc but 7127 did cause a little grief (everything was easy to fix tho, i must say). my system is marginally slower, at start up and shut down, since the upgrade.

3) on initial startup of 7127 nod32 was disabled and removed as a startup program (fixed it by manually adding it in msconfig)

I haven't really noticed any difference in Startup or shutdown times....then again...mine is on 24/7 so it doesn't happen very often.

It appears that you did an upgrade and if that is the case...you should have completely uninstalled Nod 32 and re-installed it....if you don't it creates all sorts of problems...even worse if it is the Security Suite version.

For my PC 7127 works like a charm....it appears quicker than 7100 and so far I have not had any problems at all....not that I have had any since the networking issues on 7057.
