Sky Drive Access

As far as I am aware gladinet is the best (and only) way of mounting your Skydrive as a network drive .

In terms of speed; accessing something over the Internet like this is never fast, not even for payed solutions like iDisk (which I use). The only way to speed this up is to cache the entire drive loclly and have the files upload in the background which gives you fast access... but I don't think gladinet supports this.

You get what you pay for ;).

How did you get iDisk installed on your Windows 7 box? I have Windows 7 Professional and when I attempt to install the iDisk utility, I get a message that iDisk needs access to my host file - and that's where it stops. I have Admin privileges on the system - but I'm lost.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Windows 7 Utilities: SkyDrive Explorer | Windows 7 News is another tool or mounting Skydrive on the Computer windows on Windows Explorer.

They are slow because unlike mounted physical drives, they still try to access an Internet server to get into Skydrive and access your data. They would of course be slow if your connection is slow.

I still upload my files manually to Skydrive by using a browser and I find it very handy.
