Some elder MS office programs show no icon...

I am in general quite happy with Windows 7 - very stable, etc.

One minor thing, though, that puzzles me is, that some elder MS Office products that I installed (Outlook 2002, MS Word 2002 and PowerPoint 2002) show no proper icons but only the generic "document" icon. Strange enough, when I right-click these objects and select properties their proper icon is shown in the upper left corner of the properties page. The "change icon" button is grayed out, though, so there must be something special about the icon... But on the desktop and when pinned to the task bar, only the generic icon is shown. Odd enough, Excel 2002, which was installed as part of the very same office suite displays fine, i.e. it shows the normal Excel icon and also when active displays a proper taskbar icon.

Anyone, who knows what's going wrong here? Is this a known bug? Is there a workaround or can one fix this somehow?

Yep - I tried that but it doesn't change anything re. the program's desktop icon (or lack thereof). Odd enought, these objects don't seem to be "normal" links (e.g. the target field doesn't list a path to some executable but just reads "Microsoft Office XP Standard" and the "Open File Location" as well as the "Change Icon" button are grayed out on all these Office programs. The icons displayed on that properties tab is the right one, but when I close the dialog the icon on the desktop just shows a generic "document" icon.
