sometimes windows doesn't re-index modified files.

I couldn't find a pattern, but sometimes windows does not include MS Office Word file modifications in its index database, thus fails to accurately search.

I have to remove the location of my documents from "included locations" and add it again to solve the problem.

indexer is in "Index Now" mode.

Well that is easy to answer....the index has not been given enough time to re-index modified files. It will wait until the file is not in use and when no other I/O operations are in effect. It just needs idle time.

But why the indexing status is "indexing complete" ?

Only Microsoft knows for sure.

I have noticed that indexing is a bit slow when I copy a large directory to my backup drive. All I do is leave the drive and return a moment later and all is indexed. Why it does it, is anyone guess.

Have a great hoilday.
