Hi Folks,

Upgrading to a new computer and would like some recommendations on sound cards, e.g. HT Omega or other.

The new computer comes with a Realtek ALC-392 8 Channel (on board).

Thanks in advance, ms

I just recently replaced my X-Fi Xtreme Music (started to flake out) with a Xonar DGX, and have been very happy with it so far. To me it sounds as good or better than the old X-Fi, and for $40 that I paid can't complain.

The new computer comes with a Realtek ALC-892 8 Channel (on board).

So does my current motherboard. I tested it when I got it and to me it sounds flay and lifeless in music, and the 3D positioning in games is still bad (but better than it used to be).

P.S. What are you going to be using for speakers/headphones?

Hi Stormy,

Many thanks for the tip on the audio card. Great price too!

What are you going to be using for speakers/headphones?

Both! Glad you reminded me that I'll need to replace the speakers to go along with a upgraded audio card. Any suggestions for 5.1 or 7.1 speakers. :D

Txs, ms
