star trek legacy black screen

i currently own star tre legacy, pc windows xp sp3 specs 1.8Ghz 1gb ddr and an evga nvida geforce 210 1024mb ddr3. the game has installed but once you pass the sponsor screens and get to the in game menu its a black screen with the cursor, any ideas?

First one is OLD or corrupted audio and video drivers... when was the last time you updated those two?

Second one would be that your GPU (Graphics Card) does not support the game... check the Game requirements and make sure you meet the minimum requirements at the very least...even though I would suggest the Recommended... meeting the minimum is like getting close to the girl of your dreams but not been able to touch her!
