Hi Everyone,

My Win 7 Home laptop was working fine a couple days ago. Didn't do anything different, didn't download or install anything.

Last night I noticed the fan was running constantly and saw one of the svchosts (the one for windows updates, forgot the name) was consistently at 70% usage. I have updates to notify me of new updates, but let me install.

I manually clicked windows update and saw 36 updates available (no windows update shield in notification area btw). I try to install the updates but it just sits at 0% for a while then I canceled.

I try various ways to fix Windows Update, from MSfixit, various hot fixes, reset and re-register, and running a script that clears all Windows Updates.

I manually try to do Windows Updates again, shows no updates (as history was wiped) And search for updates. The blue bar runs and runs, and just keeps searching.

I ran Cccleaner, Antspyware scans, anti virus scans, spybot, and a few other stuff and still nothing. Any ideas?
