Swapping hard drive between similar Dell Models

Hello there,

I currently have a Dell Latitude E4310. It has an i5 520-M and a QS57 chipset.

I am buying a Dell Precision M4500, which also has an i5 520-M, but a QM57 chipset.

They both have Windows 7 64-bit Pro installed and activated, with COAs.

I would like to just swap the hard drives, programs and all, on these machines. Even though these are similar spec, and both Dells, I would expect some kind of activation issue.

Do Dells auto-activate? If not, will I be able to re-activate using the COA on my new machine?

Many thanks,
Michel

Are these Dell OEM licences? If so, you will not be able to do that as the licences are tied to the motherboard.

In theory, it should actually work, as the COA Keys can be swapped around. ;)
