Hello everyone!
Hope i stuck this in the right forum, anyway, here goes:
My computer gave off a BSOD when i was watching a bit or World Cup action and has failed to boot since. I've been mucking about with all kinds of fixes for the last 4 days but i've been unable to get it running again. I don't want to do a format / reinstall, i've got some important data i'd like to keep hold of.
I've tried a few things:
- Did a full virus scan with the Kaspersky Recue disk. Removed a number of dodgy files. Let me to believe my MBR might be ruined
- Did a CHKDSK on all my drives. Everthing checks out OK, even tho it took ages.
- Tried to fix my MBR with BootRec, but to no avail. Gives off a Element Not Found message when tring FixBoot and RebuildBcd
- Ran the Repair Tool a few times, gives the same message each time: "The partition table does not have a valid System Partition" in the log
When i boot up it gets past the animated logo but restarts after briefly showing a black screen with a cursor, which i can move around. Same goes for safe mode.
I'm at wits end here guys, i've been able to fix every problem i've had by myself, but i'm not working this one out. Understand my agony of not being able to watch the World Cup on my computer (i dont own a TV) and having to rely on my radio, which is fun as well, but you know
