hey guys i have scoured the net looking for solutions in a nut shell heres my problem:

my system for some reason cannot handle 3d acceleration. As soon as i start up world of warcraft, or even Heroes of Newerth inevitably my system freezes (varying from 2 - 120 minutses), nothing is responsive. audio doesnt stop provided it starts prior to the system freeze, and its realllllllly annoying. have to force reboot (holding power button)

a list of things i have attempted to squash this issue include:

-buying new ram (team xtreem 1066)
-updating Video card drivers
-unistalling then reinstalling Video drivers
-flashing BIOS
-updating "realtek" drivers
-using drivesweeper to clean bad drivers
-disabling realtek devices
-disabling RAC scheduled event
-going thru AMD / ATI forums for clues
-going thru WINDOWS 7 forums for clues

but i just am not seeing any results. always the freezing!
-i currently am not overclocking ANYTHING
-I do not get BSOD. it just locks up
-The reported error is a Kernel error (41) within win 7 error checking
-As far as my OS is concerned all my drivers are up to date

i need help!

OS - Windows 7
CPU - Intel Q9400
Motherboard - GigaByte EP45-DS4
Memory - Team Xtreem 1066mhz 2x2
Graphics Card - Asus EAH 5770 radeon

There may be a clue in event viewer (type eventvwr in search) go to the windows logs>application tab. You want to look for critical errors (they have red in the left hand column)that say app hang, app crash, etc.

When you find them note the event ID and source and relay them to us.

If possible hit control alt del to bring up the screen where you can launch task manager. In task manager look for the process that is using the most memory.

Let us know if you need help

Temps seem good but for an alternate reason, you may want to try to downclock the video card using MSI Afterburner or ATI Tray Tools, only as a test.

You may find it will not crash at all with a slight decrease in GPU clock.

You could also let us have a look at this - Type msinfo32 in the start menu and hit enter. File | save. Zip or rar the saved file and attach to a post.

If downclocking doesn't help....

First, I see you have the Bonjour service installed. I'd completely uninstall that. You can find the correct way for x64 by Googling.

Next if that doesn't help, I'd consider completely uninstalling Avast.

Regardless, type services.msc in the start menu search box and disable and stop AMD External Events Utility. If you don't use Homegroup, disable IP Helper service. Most techs also like to disable the Windows Search service but that's up to you, of course.

You could try typing msconfig in the start menu then hitting enter. Go to the startup tab and check the box for disable all. Then hit ok, then reboot. Then test it out. If it doesn't help, go back and check the box to enable all so it's put back like it was.

If no go, visit your motherboard manufacturer's website. Download and install the latest chipset drivers.

i went into event viewer.. and i've noticed some stuff.

A. after every critical error (forced reboot) there's 2 warnings on reboot

1.The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device Root\SIDESHOW\0000.
2.The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device Root\SIDESHOW\0001.

B. there's an error after them as well

- Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0

would they be related to my freezing issue?

Not sure. That seems to be related to a Nokia app/driver. If you installed something for your phone, try to update or uninstall that.
