Hi,

Getting this BSOD at periodic intervals. Just reinstalled win7 64 yesterday and had 1st crash today.

Typically can happen when I have Media Centre playing live TV and youtube vid running on different monitors. Also had a malware scanner running too.

Suspect things I can think of...:-

1. nforce drivers for n680i SLI. When I run the latest version I get 1 driver which does not install and appears as a warning in reliability monitor.

"Driver Management concluded the process to install driver FileRepository\nvrd64.inf_amd64_neutral_a56766a7fb54f877\nvrd64.inf for Device Instance ID ROOT\NVRAIDSETUP\0000 with the following status: 0xe000020b."

2. Spotted this too (did window optioanl updates today)

"Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: AGEIA PhysX v7.09.13. Product Version: 7.09.13. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: AGEIA Technologies, Inc.. Installation success or error status: 1603."


Any help would be much appreciated been plagued by this for sometime now.

Okay had another BSOD.

Again fresh install on Win7 64 home (24hours old). Happened while Media Centre was running Live TV broadcast and I attempted to format an SD card.

No overclocking what so ever. Qx6850 was at 3000Mhz and Memory at stock 800Mhz.

Okay gave up on the previous install.

One things I found so far - I have a TEAC CAB-200 multi usb and bluetooth unit. I gather its not support in Win7. I have unplugged this completely for the purposes of further debugging.


I have now done a new install of Win7 on 6/10/10.


The only drivers installed so far are the Windows update for my X-fi card and the latest Nvidia drivers from Nvidia.

I had previously ran the driver verifier (as per J C Griff) and suspect the X-fi drivers and Nvidia drivers play fine with my system.

I have also ran MemTest+ over night and completed with no errors.


So on my fresh install guess what happened today - BSOD.

It sounds like hardware is the problem.

Test CPU: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/100352-cpu-stress-test-prime95.html

Also, run the Blend Prime95 test. Keep an eye on those temperatures!

Will try drivers. But on stress testing the PC checks out fine with Memtest, Everest Stability test, OCCT {CPU and Mem} (prime 95 variations).

Maybe my motherboard is just old..

Also to investigate, PSU and hard drive.

What is the make/model of your PSU?

It appears you are using RAID? I see a drive called "nVidia stripe", 1TB.

Also, are you using SCSI?

Two drives are in Raid 0 for a 1TB data files. One HD in standard SATA for backup/compression. System drive is a SSD 60gb on SATA. The SSD is a new addition - but the BSOD predate its acquisition. SATA drives are showing wrongly as SCSI on nvidia board.

OCCT PSU test checks out too. With only one vid card and no overclock at all I am sure that I am not even touching what the 750w unit can supply.

I've pulled out the creative X-fi card. Its the SB0770 OEM dell unit that some people have had issues with. Previously windows update took care of it but I am going to try some different drivers - Daniel K X-fi support pack. I used them in Beta as I recall (..had a short break when beta ended and finally bought Win7 retail).

Okay did some further testing last night. Also update Belkin and Net Extreme drivers.

Completely removed from system (driver sweeper on creative sound too):-

Teac 200CAB

Both of these items have a questionable win7 support.

I also did some further synthetic testing - multitasking with WMC live play, Firefox on HD you tube video (seperate monitors), malware and antivirus running scans in background. These were the conditions causing the BSODs before. So far so good. Using motherboards onboard sound controller.

I'll stay like this for next few days and see how it goes.
