Solved Task Scheduler Help

I use Task Scheduler and lost the options to do anything in it.
I went in the View Tab > Customize > Unchecked all boxes

Now that all of the boxes are unchecked I cannot do anything with Task Scheduler. I cannot undo the changes or create tasks with the options hidden.

Does anyone know how to unhide the options? The area to hide / unhide them is hidden as well.

Since you do not have System Restore activated, I would suggest you do it now. It will help you out of many problems in the future. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/81500-system-restore-enable-disable.html

You may want to look at some alternatives. I could never figure out task scheduler. Just too many settings to click. The Linux cron has a Windows version both paid and Lite here:
nnSoft: nnCron, nnCron LITE, nnBackup, nnSync

Why is doing a System restore not an option? OD you have System Restore disabled? No available restore points?

System restore is not necessary:

I recreated the issue and solved it by doing the following:

Right click my computer-click manage.

Under task scheduler you can now control it this way. I noticed that even if you untick all the boxes in computer management on reopen it will make them all appear again. So that will not let you mess it up.
I have not found a way to fix just the task scheduler window if all the options are unchecked.

I am going to look for a registry key or a file that holds that setting. Give me a minute.

FOUND IT!

Once a column sort order has been applied there is no way inside the MMC console to remove column sort orders to revert to the default unsorted view.

The only way to restore the default view is to remove the customization file for the MMC snap-in in question.

The MMC snap-in preferences files are located at:

%APPDATA%\Microsoft\MMC

Make sure the MMC snap-in is closed, then rename the snap-in preference file by adding a suffix like “-old”. Restart the MMC snap-in and it will be reset to its default settings.
