Task Scheduler not running??

Hello-

Anyone getting this message or had it and corrected it? see attachment. I''ve been on Google for a loong time and not really finding a fix. HP system 3 weeks old and this seems to be a problem for a ton of people.

I check the services and its running and grayed out so I can't touch it.

wow 83 views and not one person has seen this? I Google it and it get tons of hits but no fixes. No problem - if anyone does see it and have a suggestion let me know.

I note you say your computer is 3 weeks old.
A new computer should not be presenting with the problem you have listed.
I strongly suggest that you should seek further advice from HP asap.
Under Warranty terms a duty of care applies.

Yep seen it. Its a brand new W7 box so I don't want to create a new acct. I haven't changed the name either.

I don't have this in W7

• Open windows explorer
• Browse to C:\Windows\System32\Tasks\Microsoft\WindowsCalenda r\
• Select Reminders - <username>
• Right click Reminders - <username> and select Delete
• Click Yes to delete the task
• Close windows Explorer
• Open Task Scheduler
• Error should not appear

NOTE: There might be more than one Reminders - <username> task that needs deleting."

Can't do this:

Go to C:\Windows\system32\Tasks and make a backup of all the tasks
there somewhere else on your drive. I copied the whole folder content to
my Documents folder.

I try to add to .rar because every time I try and copy to C:\ or desktop I get hit with tasks folder already exist and asks me if I want to overwrite /copy files and folders etc etc..?? and I know for a fact its not there.

If I click any task in the scheduler I get the other error. oh well its not a big issue. I knows Windows 7 and because a ton of people have it - hopefully there will be fix in SP2 because I can find a fix anywhere.

PS its running according the my services.msc

Check

Click on Windows event log service and see if it gives you any errors. What I am wanting to know will the event log service run.

No errors it came right up, set to Auto.

Well you can rule out what I was thinking.

I found this:
The Task Scheduler engine manages a queue of tasks that are scheduled to run. A task is put in the queue when the service determines the task should run. The queue has a quota that defines the number of tasks allowed in the queue. The quota is defined in a registry key value.
I haven't found the key yet. I assume if the queue was full no further tasks could run. I'll keep looking.

Looks like some people have a conflict with CCleaner. You might look at this.

Hi I never installed CCLEANER and I deleted that entree before - no luck. Ran SFC /SCANNOW and still no luck. Looks like 5-8 hours on the phone with HP...

I'm gonna try this route now. Maybe a repair of the OS will help.

Sfc /scannow may better serve you from the command prompt. Here is a tut.

Already did that - mentioned earlier in other posts.

I didn't do the one with the OS CD but when I create one I can give that option a try.
