Hello guys, Let me start by saying I am not a tech expert, but knows basic things to maintain it. 2 days back, I got a mail about Tech support from Microsoft, saying they are monitoring my PC and found some issues with my system and will solve it and a phone number was given to contact. I wasn't sure because I have never got any such mails before. My windows 7 OS is genuine and at first I thought the mail might be genuine. But then I realized that there is no reason for them to monitor my system.

I searched online and found about other similar tech support scams: Beware Unsolicited Help: Trouble With Tech Support Scams . I deleted the mail immediately. I am worried if any sort of virus or malware or trojan sort of thing has automatically downloaded into my system when I opened the mail. I scanned the system with Kaspersky Internet Security 2016, but found any.

Can anyone confirm if I am safe? Should I check for any other malicious software?

A quick response will be very much appreciated as my computer is filled with a lot of important files. Thanks in advance.
