Thanks, but is it still possible that the password will work on my pc if a new install of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit was installed. I created the truecrpyt pass on the external-hardrive a couple of months ago. Is there still a fisical signature from that pc on the external-hardrive.

You wouldn't happen to have an old system image of the previous Windows installation saved somewhere? If for some reason it doesn't work because of the new Windows installation on your PC, then you could create an image of that installation first, and then restore the old one.

One other thing. Did you install the same version of TrueCrypt on the new Windows installtion? If so, then I've got to believe it will work. Good luck!
