unable to install some apps

Hi, I'm new to Windows 7. I am using parallels desktop on my mac to run windows 7 by the way. I can't seem to install some apps such as CCLeaner, switcher and gmail notification for windows 7. I have downloaded them on their respective websites and when I try to install switcher, it says "this installation package cannot be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer"

When I try to install CCleaner, it says it's not a valid win32 application. My OS is windows 7 ultimate x32. I have tried installing some apps for win7 and it usually says not valid win32 application. =(

Whenever I try to install gmail notification, it always hangs and the option close program pops-up.

Is there something wrong with my windows 7? :( Please help.

I am also unable to install blu twitter application. It always stops on 289KB T.T What should I do?

Yes. I also tried right click> run as administrator but still the same outcome.

I don't know if parallels desktop is the problem because if I go to properties>compatibility it says it cannot be set permanently on this program because it's on a network drive. I can even install firefox, it says not valid win32 app. X(

Found this for you, worth a try:

1. Launch Parallels Desktop and start Windows. Use a view that allows the Parallels Desktop menu to remain visible (i.e., not Full Screen).

2. From the Parallels Desktop menu, select Devices | Network Adapter 1 | Bridge Networking | Default Adapter.

thanks A Guy! :) I've also found another solution, I disabled shared folders and applications. It seems norton anti virus for mac was the culprit. T.T I do like Norton because my friend says its much more reliable but it's strict though.

I thought there's something wrong when I installed windows..

Though I did encounter a blue screen while I was upgrading my blackberry os using the desktop manager. But it did manage to recover and I think everything is okay now, I hope..

Thanks again!

Glad you got it sorted. You are one of the few Mac users I have known that uses any AV software. A Guy
