Unable to start- startup repair problem

The system starts with Startup repair. There is no other option and the repair is also not completing successfully. advanced startup options like system restore and memory diagnostic are also not working. it says that system has no restore points. the system is also not booting the windows Cd so that i can install a new copy of windows. even safe mode is also not working. everytime the Startup repair starts. kindly help.

Hi Janish, welcome to the forums

If you are quite happy to re-install Windows then it seems you will need to change the boot order in the BIOS so that your CD/DVD drive is first in the list.

   Note

Most BIOS will require you to press Del, F1, F2, F10 to enter while on the very first screen (P.O.S.T screen). Please watch as the machine boots for your individual options relating to your BIOS

Are you using a DVD drive? The Win7 installer disk is a DVD.

Once you can boot it correctly by setting DVD drive first to boot in BIOS setup, boot into the Repair Console to try running Startup Repair repeatedly to see if it will repair and start.

Thanks.. yes i had set the boot preference to dvd drive and i have a "DVD" drive in my laptop. Now the problem is solved.. the thing was that i pressed enter key again and again and somehow i got to the windows installation screen(DVD boot)... i don't know how it happened but now i have reinstalled the windows. earlier even the dvd was also unable to bbot itself.. the screen woulad automatically go to he repair option.
